PIRATES AWARDS 2014
After another strong season in the Premier Division, over 80 coaches, players and family members from the East Kilbride Pirates gathered to celebrate with dinner and awards at Glasgow University Union.
The evening culminated with veteran running back and team captain Iain Dick being named as Player of the Year, and saw rookie defensive player Kenny McCulloch collect an impressive three awards.
The awards ceremony was presented by MC for the evening Matthew Davies, and awards were handed out by the coaching staff. For the first time, the Pirates handed out a Special Teams Player of the Year, to highlight the importance of all three phases of football. The winners were:
Rookie of the Year – Kenny McCulloch, Linebacker
Most Improved Player of the Year – Joe McMillan, Defensive Back
Special Teams Player of the Year – Kenny McCulloch, Linebacker
Lineman of the Year – Steven Wilson, Defensive Line
Offensive Player of the Year – Neil Baptie, Quarterback
Defensive Player of the Year – Kenny McCulloch, Linebacker
Players' Player of the Year – Blair McTague, Linebacker
Kenny Hodge Memorial Player of the Year Award – Iain Dick, Running Back
