East Kilbride Pirates
Youth American Football team
The East Kilbride Pirates Youth team were formed in 2010 and welcome boys and girls aged 14 - 16. We play a five man contact version of the sport and compete in the Scottish Youth Conference of the British American Football Association's National Leagues against Aberdeen Roughnecks, Edinburgh Wolves, Hamilton Buccaneers and the Highland Wildcats. The East Kilbride Pirates youth team were a 2014 finalist at the Britbowl national championships.
Costs and equipment
We supply all necessary playing equipment and team uniform - all you need is suitable practice clothing and footwear and a gumshield. At the moment there is a charge of £10 a month. This covers expenses for training, tournaments, equipment and other running costs. In addition, parents or guardians will be required to register their youth player with the league each year for competition and insurance purposes. This currently costs £17.50.
Training
We train on Sundays from 10am-12pm and Tuesdays from 7pm-8.30pm at Duncanrig High School.
